Successful defence of the PhD thesis: “Collaborative work in online environments: design and evaluation of an intervention for the improvement of effectiveness and well-being”

On 18 July 2022, Baltasar González-Anta, PhD student of the Human Resources Psychology programme presented and defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Collaborative work in online environments: design and evaluation of an intervention for the improvement of effectiveness and well-being”. The thesis took place in the boardroom of the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy and after different questions, comments and deliberation by the examining board, the thesis received the qualification of Excellent "Cum Laude".

The thesis was supervised by Professors Virginia Orengo and Ana Zornoza (IDOCAL-Universitat de València). This thesis investigated well-being and effectiveness in collaborative online environments (virtual teams and virtual communities). In addition, it tested the effectiveness of an intervention in emotional team management to improve the functioning and results of virtual teams. 

The examining board that assessed the thesis was formed by Professor José María Peiró (Universitat de València), Professor Francisco Medina (University of Seville) and Professor Isabel Dimas (Universidade de Coimbra, Portugal).
