Aims: The main objective is to create a body of marketing researches who, after reading their doctoral thesis, can join the labour market providing added value to the economic tissue based on knowledge which allows advancing in business practices towards better ones in terms of marketing and which can be efficiently translated within the enterprises. These researchers will also have to be able to provide the scientific community with researches which can turn into quality publications so that the inversion in their training not only affects the productive tissue but also contribute to the advancement of academic knowledge restarting the virtuous circle which will lead to improvements in business management. The doctoral studies shall, at minimum, guarantee the acquisition by the doctoral students of the basic competencies which are in the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, specifically: systematic understanding of a field of study of legal sciences, and mastery of its skills and methods of research; ability to conceive, design or create, implement and adapt a substantial process of research and creation; ability to make a critical and assessment analysis, and synthesis of new and complex ideas, as well as communication with the academic and scientific community and society in general about their fields of knowledge; and and ability to promote, within academic and professional contexts, scientific, technological, social, artistic or cultural advance in a knowledge-based society.

Description: The Valencian Community has been pioneer in Marketing development in Spain. In Spain there are only four specific departments for CIM (Commercialization in Market Research). One of them is that of the UVEG, who leads the project. This department comprises 7 full-university professors in Commercialization and Market Research within the same University (the maximum number in Spain), all of them with a minimum of two period of six years on teaching/research. Additionally, it was the first institution to develop an inter-university doctoral programme in marketing with quality award- this programme is a continuation of the doctoral programme with the same name which counts with an Excellency Award by the Ministry of Education until the 2013-2014 academic year, which gives it a high degree of competency and of the professionals in it.
