
Rebecca Serna, graduated in the Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, has won the II IIAMA (Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering) Prize for her master’s degree final project “Desarrollo de una técnica respirométrica para la determinación de la actividad biológica de las microalgas” (“Development of a respirometric technique for the determination of the biological activity of the micro-algae”), which she presented on the IIAMA Conference on December.
The author, Rebecca Serna, after taking the Degree in Biotechnology and the Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering at the ETSE-UV, she got the Prize for the Best Academic Results in the 2014-2015 academic year. Recently she has won the second edition of the IIAMA Prize for her master’s degree final project and she is currently carrying out a doctorate in Chemical, Environmental and Process Engineering at the ETSE-UV.
Her research has been awarded for her technical and scientific quality, her innovative character and the positive impact that it has in society and the environment. The prize consists of 2,000 euros in cash, a grant of 150 euros in any course organised by the Professional Association for Environmental Sciences of the Valencian Community (COMABCV), a certificate for the author and her tutor, the teacher from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Aurora Seco, as well as the dissemination of the curriculum of the author through the Spanish Technology Platform for Water (PTEA) among its partners.
