A ranking on the best Masters of 2019 puts the Interuniversity Master in Environmental Engineering of the ETSE-UV and ETSICCP-UPV amongst the top 5 in Environmental Management

The Master in Environmental Engineering taught between the School of Engineering of the Universitat de València (ETSE-UV) and the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (ETSICCIP-UPV) was ranked 4th in the category of Environmental Management, in the ranking published by the newspaper El Mundo of the best Masters of 2019.

Amongst the ranking criteria, they ranked the teaching staff (prestige, profile and rank), their participation in European and International research projects, most relevant scientific publications and their transparency actions of Technology (development of marketable equipment and software, registered patents and transfer contracts with the company). Likewise, the activities of teaching innovation, pedagogical methodology and tutorial attention carried out by the teaching staff have been considered relevant, as well as the means available in the centres that teach the master (classrooms, laboratories, new technologies and other facilities). Both the inclusion of obligatory External Practices in the Study Plan and the high rates of labour insertion have also been positively valued.

The director of the Interuniversity Master in Environmental Engineering, Dr Aurora Seco, considers it important to emphasize that "the studies that this master seeks to ensure economic activity along with respect for the environment, with the aim of improving the welfare of societies. To do this, the degree learns to address this challenge with an innovative perspective, applying the principles of Circular Economy to engineering and taking as a reference the contribution of this discipline to the achievement of Sustainable Development Objectives. The Master is taught by experts in the field of technology and environmental management, including not only researchers from universities, but also professionals from public administration and business, such as the Public Wastewater Sanitation Entity of the Valencian Region, Iberdrola, Mediterranean Water Purification or the Valencian Energy Agency. In addition, in each course different activities are developed in which other experts are invited to participate through seminars or conferences, such as the Environmental Engineering Conferences. These activities complement the academic teaching of the degree with the approach and vision that professionals from the environmental engineering sector apply in their working lives".

Therefore and thanks to its classification in this ranking, the ETSE-UV positions itself as a benchmark school of engineering in the autonomic and national scopes. Link to the ranking here.
