ECITY: GAMING AS A LEARNING TOOL

  • September 4th, 2015
ECITY

On 7 and 8 September the ETSE will host a Sessions organised by the CEFIRE and the centre addressed to teachers of secondary education. The sessions explore the use of online games as a learning tool. To this aim e-City has been created with European funding and the participation of the teaching staff of the ETSE.

The goal of the course is to analyse gaming in the classroom from a didactic perspective, introducing game and fun activities as a learning tool.

To this end, the secondary education teaching staff is aimed to see games in the classroom from a methodological/strategical perspective. They should apply games to the learning-teaching process, showing examples of the experiences of the use of games in secondary education.

Moreover it is intended to provide a tool which has been specifically designed to this end, e-City, and to use it as a complement for the ESO and Bachiller curriculum (Secondary Education).

The development of e-City is part of a Teaching Innovation European Project in which have participated professors of the ETSE and the Faculty of Chemistry and where university and secondary teaching staff of four different countries are involved: Portugal, Turkey, Greece and Spain.
