The award ceremony, with an endowment of 2650€, was made by the Acting Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities of Spain, Pedro Duque.

The event, which took place at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and was broadcast by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, was attended by the 340 winners from universities across the country, where the Universitat de València collected a total of 22 recognitions from the hands of its award-winning students.

The minister took the opportunity to highlight the importance of encouraging and recognising academic performance and the culture of merit and excellence, as well as to give the students an example of Spanish talent. The aim of the awards is precisely to distinguish university men and women who have completed their studies with excellence.
