The School of Engineering of the University of Valencia (ETSE-UV) holds, for the fifth year in a row, a series of workshops in which almost seven hundred students, mostly in Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary school education) but also in Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (Spanish secondary education) and vocational training, will do laboratory practicals adapted to their level of education. They will also have the opportunity to learn more about the studies and facilities of the School of Engineering, located in the University of Valencia’s Burjassot Campus.
This activity is the result of the coordinated work between the School of Engineering and secondary school teachers in order to join efforts to improve teaching quality in the fields of computer science and technology and to spark the students’ interest in experimental work and engineering.
The workshops, for which demand has tripled the number of places available, will be held from 13 to 17 January. Students will participate in computer science and multimedia workshops, workshops about web portal management, video game development, industrial and telecommunication electronics, robotics with Lego Mindstorms, real-time generation of digital audio effects, chemical technology and industrial processes, where they will produce shower gel or will perform separation operations to obtain essential oils, and another one in which the will practice instrumentation and measuring with various sensors.
