The Department of Research and Commercial Methodology of Cajamar Cooperative Group, through Cajamar Data Lab, has organised the greatest online data analytic competition, the Cajamar UniversityHack 2017, with the aim of encouraging this discipline, which is very claimed in the labour market: ‘Data Science’.
From 1 to 16 February, the 10 teams from each centre –compounded by 3 people at most– can register in the competition, which will start on 20 February and will end on 6 April.
During the championship participants will have to pass some tests in each phase of the two participation categories: 'Card Analytics’, consists of the creation of the best application and/or visualisation basing on anonymous data in card transactions in Valencia, real data aggregated by Cajamar Group during 2015 and 2016; and 'Predictive Modelling’, in which participants will have to predict the probability of each client contracting new finance products on the basis of some anonymous variables, both quantitative and qualitative, from particular clients of Cajamar Group.
In the first phase, from 21 February to 10 March, the competition will be developed at the Training centre level. After this period, the Verdict of the first phase by the Local Jury will be published on 17 March. In this phase the best work in each category will be chosen, being these two teams from each centre the ones that will participate in the next phase of the Contest.
The second phase will take place between 17 and 24 March. During this period, the participants who have been selected in the previous phase will be able to improve their works over the Datasets themselves. Once the second phase is over, on 31 March the National Jury will communicate the 3 selected works for each category, which will be defending their projects in the Presentation event.
