The initiative ‘California-Spain Campus’ is a project by the Campus of International Excellence VLC/CAMPUS (CIE) which was created with the purpose of valuing the collaborative activities with the University of California at Berkeley (UCB), envisaged under the memorandum of understanding signed in 2013.
Within the frame of this initiative, the Office of the Vice-Principal of Degree studies and that of Linguistic Policy calls and organises a contest to select 6 students enrolled for the 2015/2016 academic year in official university degrees, master’s degrees or doctoral programmes at the ETSE, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Economics or at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the UV. Those participants who complete the training period and pass the selection process (through a favourable assessment of the projects by the Selection Committee), will be awarded with grants which include the inscription and accommodation to participate in the international campus: “Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe: A Berkeley Startup Bootcamp” which will be held in Niza, France during the month of July 2016.
This contest is part of the Global VLC/CAMPUS plan which aims at promoting the CIE’s international mission; in this case, it does so by promoting UV students’ and centre’s participation in excellence activities able to invigorate innovation and talent processes as well as the students’ entrepreneur spirit.
The initiative is coordinated by the Policies for Excellence Office [OPEX], management structure of the International Excellence Campus programme at the UV and which is also found framed within the entrepreneurship programme ‘EMPREN +’, which gives support to university entrepreneurs and which is promoted and coordinated by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research and Science Policy.
The call will remain open until 11 January, 2016
