Conference for creating accessible teaching materials for disability attention held at ETSE-UV

The University of Valencia, under the sponsorship of the Vodafone Spain Foundation has organized the conference "Creating accessible teaching materials for disability attention",  which will be held this Thursday. The event, held at the School of Engineering, has had  the presence of the Vice-Principal for Teaching Staff and Academic Planning, Mª Vicenta Mestre, the Principal's delegate for the Digital University, Jesús Albert, and D. Joaquín Izquierdo, representing the Vodafone Spain Foundation.

The training day, aimed at the staff of the University of Valencia, is part of the collaboration agreement signed by the Vodafone Spain Foundation and the University to sponsor actions related to accessibility in new technologies to students with disabilities at the University. The aim of the event has been the training of the staff of the University in generating accessible electronic materials, of academic or administrative character, adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. One hundred of people participated in the event. Presentations were made by: Alejandro Rodriguez (professor at the UNED), Inmaculada Coma (professor at the University of Valencia) and Javier French (specialist of the Unit for the Integration of People with Disabilities of the University of Valencia).

The University of Valencia is the Spanish on-site university that attends the largest number of students with disabilities and this event highlights the interest of the University for supporting this group of students.
