The European project TrainonSEC celebrates its last meeting on Thursday 13 July in the facilities of the ETSE-UV

The European project TrainonSEC, which was born in September 2013, is framed within ITN programme in the modality European Industrial Doctorate and its scientific objective is the transformation of polluting industrial emissions to the atmosphere into bioenergy.

During these four years the Research Group in Environmental Engineering (GI2AM) of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Dutch company Pure Air Solutions Pure Air Solutions have worked along for developing and optimising the new concept expressed in the Spanish patent P201430125 “Procedure for the depuration of gases that contain volatile organic compounds”, which has been exclusively licensed to Pure Air Solutions. The central axis of the project has been the incorporation of two young, pre-doctoral European researchers who have received an extensive training in the field of air bio-treatment and have carried out several intersectoral and international dissemination activities. They are also expected to be the first doctors by the Universitat de València with mention in Industrial Doctoral Studies, since they will be defending their respective doctoral thesis next autumn.

In the final meeting that will be held in the facilities of the School of Engineering of the Universitat de València the advancements the consortium has made in the development of this new technology will be presented, evaluating at the same time future collaboration lines.
