The call for participating in the 23rd edition of the UVEC Awards is opened until 23rd April. UVEC Awards are the Premis Universitat de València d’Escriptura de Creació Jove (Universitat de València Writing Awards of Young Creation). They are aimed at students of Valencian public universities. There are six modalities: poetry in Valencian, poetry in Spanish, narrative in Valencian, narrative in Spanish, theatre and short film script. 

Students who are enrolled this year in any Valencian public university, and who are under 36 years old on 31st December 2026 can participate. In the specific case of the theatre modality, students from the Escola Superior d’Art Dramàtic de València can also participate, as long as they meet the age requirement. 

Each modality has a monetary prize of 1000 euros for the winning work. Moreover, the winning works in poetry, narrative, and theatre will be published. For the script modality, if the short film is produced before December 2027, an additional grant of 2000€ for the production can be obtained. 

UVEC Awards are driven by the Students Council Branch and organised by the Student Information and Promotion Service (Sedi), with the aim of contributing to the motivation for literary and audiovisual creation among young university students. They count with the collaboration of the Narrative, Poetry, Performing Arts and Cinema Classroom from the Vice-rector for Culture and Society.
