Dear colleagues,
The Editorial board of Cahiers François Viète is publishing a call for proposals for a thematic volume and varia articles.
The Cahiers François Viète is a biannual generalist journal on the history of science and technology. The journal publishes original articles, in French or in English, on all geographical areas and from antiquity to the contemporary period. The articles and volumes may be concerned with different approaches to the field (epistemological, conceptual, social, cultural history...). The journal is also open to proposals for articles concerning, more broadly, the study of science and technology in the various human and social sciences (sociology, anthropology, geography, literature and civilisations, etc.).
The Cahiers François Viète are freely available to both authors and readers, online and paper format:
https://journals.openedition.org/cahierscfv/
The call for thematic volumes concerns numbers III-20 to III-23 (submission of texts between December 2024 and June 2026; publication in 2026 and 2027). Interested colleagues are invited to complete the downloadable document on the “Guide for Authors” page (https://journals.openedition.org/cahierscfv/281) and send it to cahiers-francois-viete@univ-nantes.fr before 30 September 2023. The Editorial board will respond to the various proposals by November 2023 at the latest. If you have any questions, please contact us at the same address.
In addition, it is possible to submit varia articles on a regular basis, with the proposals received being reviewed at each editorial board meeting in the spring and autumn of each year. In the case of positive reviews or those requiring minor modifications, the deadline for publication of a varia article is 12 to 18 months.
In any case, please refer to the “Guide for Authors” page for details on how to submit a varia article or a proposal for a thematic volume. The publication charter of the Cahiers François Viète is also available here: https://journals.openedition.org/cahierscfv/279
Current calls for papers and proposals are also available on the journal's website.
Best regards,
Jenny Boucard, for the Editorial Board
