This edition of Room Art understands the notion of space according to a double creative ascription: firstly, the one that arises from the practical exercise of design -as triggering element- expressed in the new ways of understanding the plastic arrangement of space, and, secondly, it questions the possibility of continuity of the normative in the last artistic trends of the most recent contemporary Valencian art. Towards the support and enhancement of this young art are addressed the efforts integrated in Room Art 2013. Espacio XXI, The artists, regardless to the different media or artistic disciplines through which they develop their creative work and regardless too, of the conceptual link established between the operation of a “space” of visual and functional management joined with a compositional and structuring “space” in art, their scientific proposal tries in turn to join a recent historical tradition that put the Valencian art at the Spanish forefront of a perspective linked with the poetics of geometry and normativism. Thus, in this last issue that is undoubtedly part of the aesthetics reflection it is suggested the question about the possibility of thinking in the updating of some defining methodological assumptions of certain individual poetics included in the Parpalló Group, in the constructive cohesion of groups such as Antes del Arte, or in the inclusion of the design from the reconquest of space that marked this first exhibition of Normative Art in Valencia, all of them creative effervescences that arose between the fifties and the sixties of the 20th century, but whose influence seems to recover a strong role in the artistic Valencian present.
