Professor Enrique Herreras Maldonado, Professor of the Department of Philosophy and member of the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations, received last Saturday the Valencian Literary Critics Award. This recognition, shared with the other winners Lola Mascarell, Paco Romeu and José Iniesta, serves so that his books "continue alive" and reach more readers.

These are three literary works in which childhood and adolescence play an essential role and an essay in which philosophy and journalism come together to alert us to post-truth.

Enrique Herreras received the Essay and Criticism Award for "Lo que la posverdad esconde". In this work he has investigated through Philosophy and his particular experience as a journalist in media such as Levante-EMV about the loss of value of truth and the danger that democracy and contemporary societies run as a result. "There have always been lies in the media and in politics because, as I always say, post-truth is neither created nor destroyed, it simply transforms," explains Herreras. But now the lie has gone viral both in the traditional media and on the networks. And although there are still newspapers that try to do serious journalism, they have to compete against many enemies”.

Lola Mascarell: Critics' Award for Best Narrative Work for “Nosotras ya no estaremos"

Paco Romeu: Dramatic Literature Award for “Gulliver Captiu”

José Iniesta: Poetry Prize for “Cantar la vida”
