Description

AICO/2017/093

This project aims to develop microsystems for the encapsulation, selective transport and controlled release of small active molecules (such as azathioprine and Budesonide) on the colonic mucosa for the treatment of inflammatory diseases Intestinal (IBD). These systems will consist of microparticles of silica mesoporous, chemically modified with the incorporation of molecular doors (as derivatives of arachidonic acid or azoderivados substituted with polyethylene glycols) and if necessary with additional polymeric coatings capable of protecting them in strongly acidic means such as the stomach. The in vitro evaluation of the efficacy of encapsulation and controlled release of the drug will be carried out in means that simulate gastrointestinal fluids, and finally, if the results are positive, its efficacy will be assessed in vivo, using as a model Animal Rats of Wistar breed.
