Training objectives

The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) sets competence assessment as one of the top priorities, which has boosted the reshaping of teaching-learning methodologies and places students center stage. These methods strive for students’ active participation in their own learning process, including their contribution to class-based tasks, which provides lecturers with crucial information on students’ acquisition of the set competencies. In this scenario, gamification techniques plau a central role. In the study of Law, Moot Courts and simulations are have become preferred practices.

The general objective of this course/workshop is to acquire knowledge to implement such techniques in the teaching process of the different areas of Law for university students.

This general objective will be achived through these specific objectives:

1.-To learn about the elements and the preparation process to create a moot court or a simulation among our students (establishing rules, topics, timing…, selecting material, etc.)

2.-To gain insights into the different options to carry out the Moot court or the simulation.

3.- To explore the different options to evaluate the Moot court results or the simulation results.

On the second session of the couse, asychronous, the participants will draft their simulation or moot court to be implemented in their classes.

Criteria and procedure for evaluation of the activity

To obtain a positive evaluation participants:

1.-must attend at least to the 80% of the face-to-face sessions

2.-must deliver a final activity after the last session.
