El Màster Oficial en Arqueologia va tancar la seua VIII edició el passat mes de maig després de preparar a una nova generació d'arqueòlegs desitjosos de posar en pràctica tot l'après. El Wikimarató Editatona d'este any pretenia donar major visibilitat a les dones que es dediquen o s'han dedicat a l'Arqueologia, però també contribuir a superar la bretxa de gènere i el biaix en les publicacions.

L'estudiant MªSagrario Carrasco va presentar el passat 4 de novembre la seua tesi doctoral "Recol·lecció i aprofitament de mol·luscos en època romana. Estudi Arqueomalacològic comparat de les restes recuperades en Carthago Nova i Valentia". Aquesta tesi, de gran interés malacològic, analitza detalladament diferents mostres tant terrestres com marines i dulciaqüícoles, datades d'època romana, senyalant les distintes espècies i explicant la funció que van exercir en diferents àmbits de la vida per als habitants de l'època. Després de la seua defensa, es va concedir a MªSagrario Carrasco el títol de Doctora amb distinció "Cum Laude" per unanimitat.

Investigadors membres del Departament de Prehistòria, Arqueologia i historia Antiga de la Universitat de València han recuperat en les Coves de Santa Maira (Marina Alta, Alacant), fins a trenta restes humanes que daten del 102000 i 9000 anys abans del present i evidencien pràctiques caníbals entre els grups de caçadors mesolítics.

Los dólmenes de Antequera en la provincia de Málaga han sido declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco este viernes. Es el quinto monumento europeo megalítico en la lista de la Unesco, pero el primero en suelo continental, dado que los cuatro registrados ahora se hallan en Malta, Inglaterra, las islas Orcadas e Irlanda.
