The general objective of the Master’s degree in Biostatistics is to complement the training in statistics of graduates from the diverse disciplines related to Health and Life Sciences, enabling them to solve problems based on more or less complex and/or complete empirical information, from collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams.

The Master’s intends to train students in the planning of studies, modelling and statistical analysis in general areas. It also intends to introduce them to applied research, familiarising them with some basic problems arising in the fields of Epidemiology and Public Health, Clinical and Pharmaceutial Research and Research in Environment and Natural Systems.
