I. General Rules And Regulations

The elaboration, supervision, enrolment, submission, defence and evaluation of the master's degree final project (TFM) is regulated, as a general rule, in the Regulations approved by the Governing Council of the Universitat de València 2nd July, 2024 (ACGUV 206/2024). Furthermore, each degree will establish their own specific criteria inside the subject “Master's Degree Final Project” from the corresponding curriculum approved and published.

II. Supervision of the TFM
  1. Assignment of tutor
    • The TFM will be developed under the supervision of an academic tutor pertaining to an area of knowledge with teaching in the degree.
    • The supervising person will be responsible of orienting students in the development of their work, watch over the compliance of the fixed goals and giving a report on the student’s work.
    • In the case that a work is supervised by more than a person, at least one will need to be part of an area of knowledge with teaching on the degree.
  2. Requirements of the academic tutor
    • Each degree will be able to establish specific requirements for the teaching staff who desires to supervise a TFM.
    • In any case, the supervising person must have finalised their doctorate, but for those cases in which the appropriate body authorises the exception.
  3. Supervision in extern institutions
    • If the TFM is developed in an institution, organism or company, this must name an external supervisor that will collaborate with the academic tutor in the definition of the content and the development of the work.
    • Once the topic and the supervision have been assigned, students will have to complete and manage the next documents:
      • TFG-TFM agreement: Document that must be accomplished, signed by the supervisors and presented through the corresponding electronic procedure.

    • Both documents will need to be uploaded into the platform Valija Electrónica, in the procedure "TFG-TFM en entidades externas”.

  4. Recognition of the supervision
    • The supervision of the TFM will be reflected in the POD of the teaching staff and be recognised according to the rules and regulations of the Universitat de València.
    • If the TFM counts with more than one academic supervision, the supervision weight will be shared between them.

III. Defence application form and TFM submission
  • The application form will be done through the Online Office of the Universitat de València (SEDE UV).
  • The next data must be attached:
    • Archive in PDF format with the TFM (without this document, the application form will be invalidated).
    • Authorization of the supervisor for the defence of the TFM.
  • After completing the application form, the student will receive a supporting document of the submission of the TFM.
  • Afterwards, a favourable or unfavourable resolution will be notified with the indication of the Public Service exam selection board and the date of defence of the TFM.
IV. Calls

The student disposes of two official calls for academic year, although they will be able to apply for an advance of the call writing to the master’s mail.

First call:

Defence period: The firsts weeks of July

  • Delivery periods:
    • Final delivery date for a review by the tutor: 20 June
    • Final delivery date to delivery the TFM through ENTREU: 30 June

Second Call

Defence period: The second week of September

  • Delivery periods:
    • Final delivery date for a review by the tutor: 18 July
    • Final delivery date to deliver the TFM through ENTREU: 28 July
VI. Public Service exam selection board
  • The Public Service exam selection board will be composed by three people.
  • The supervisor of the TFM will not be able to be part of the Public Service exam selection board.
  • The Public Service exam selection board will deliver an exam record of the TFM, that will be signed digitally by its members and sent to the Office Of The Secretary of the Faculty (fac.matematiques@uv.es).
