Winners of the IQ-Innovation Session in Chemical Engineering: “Circular Economy and Sustainability in the Plastic Sector”

This year’s theme has been “Circular Economy and Sustainability in the Plastic Sector”.  This way, the IQ-Innovation Session is aligned with the actions of the UVSustainability team from the Office of the Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life of our university, as the Sustainable Waste Management. In this way, the IQ-Innovation session of the Universitat de València contributes to making the training of professionals more visible with knowledge and capabilities in the initiatives that have brought Valencia to compete for achieving the European Innovation Capital Status as well as the European Green Capital Status.

The award ceremony was given by full-time university professor Vicente Martínez Soria, head of the Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering - Universitat de València and Professor José Badia, coordinator of the session and Head of Initiatives of UVSustainability, of the Universitat de València. A total of 24 students participated and 35 professionals assisted as the evaluation committee, showing great interest and satisfaction from the proposal presented and the work done.

The D-STEP project: D-LIMONENE FOR SUSTAINABLE TREATMENT OF EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE, comprised by the students Eva Cantera, Pau Pomer Rubio and Marian Sanchis Bodí gets the award to the Best Project, and the Transferability and Business Model Mention.

The CARBONTEX project: TEXTILE DISCOLORATION WITH CARBON DIOXIDE IN A SUPER-CRITICAL STATE FOR RECYCLING of the hands of students Adriana Gallego, Sergi González Zaragozá González and Ariadna Martinez Gilgado Martínez achieves the mentions to Scientific-Technological Solidity and to Impact and sustainability.
