Last 2 May 2016 Dr Bueno Cañigral explained how they work with drug addictions from the municipal level. Concurring with the 30 anniversary of the prevention plan the Valencia City Council  carries out, he commented on the debates on social subjects related to drugs, how is  the damage they cause, or the legalisation of some of them (our Master’s degree has participated in several activities) and offered some publications that the Directorate undertakes with our students.  

He added that the issues that create social alarm have evolved. At this moment, the drug consumption generates little interest, which proves the social tolerance for drugs consumption. From the municipal level he said that, like in previous years, they work like a network, that is to say, developing the communication, promoting participation and transversality. It is not a new way to work. In 1984, starts in València the first association for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts: the Urban Centre for Drug Addicts Rehabilitation (CURT), since then there have been several municipal programmes of services for drug addicts, always with the “network working” spirit.
