On the afternoon of February 27, the Kick-Off “Decision-making in changing competitive environments” of the Mentors Club Business Game was held in the Faculty d'Economia. On this occasion, the event was attended by more than 30 students from different masters, representatives of the Club's Advisory Council and some mentors.

This first session of the simulation game was directed by David Palet, Founder and Managing Partner of WinToWin Partners, who started the event giving a personal brief presentation and offered an introductory explanation about his company and the simulator that has been used in the main businesses schools and important companies in the environment. Subsequently, the speaker spoke about the general dynamics of the game through the virtual platform, explaining that it consists of the direction of a multinational company over 5 fiscal years (rounds of the game). He also stressed that the winning team will be the one that creates the greatest shareholder value at the end of these rounds and that the main keys to success are teamwork, analysis of the information and the results of the competitors. Similarly, he presented decisions that as a team must be taken by the participants of each round. For example: Estimate the total market demand, define what market share you want to achieve, what products to produce and market, characteristics of the products, choose between own manufacturing or outsourcing, what investments to make, with which suppliers to work, management of human resources (hiring and firing - turnover estimates), investment in marketing and advertising, in which markets to participate, shareholder remuneration, among others.

Finally, he stressed the importance of assuming roles, analyzing the conditions of the environment, as well as the strategies assumed by the competitors and thanked the 10 teams registered in the game for actively participating in the WinToWin Partners simulator. No doubt it will be a very competitive and successful dynamic that will develop competencies and knowledge to the participating teams.
