Speech by professors Silvia Barona and Carlos Esplugues at the Illustrious Bar Association of Cajamarca (Peru) in Congress on the current keys to international commercial arbitration and the role of the lawyer in the new forms of justice.

Dr. Dr. h.c. (mult) Silvia Barona Vilar, Professor of Procedural Law at the Universitat de València, Director of the MedArbValencia Excellence Group at the University of Valencia and IP of the MINECO DER2016/74945-R and PROMETEO GVA2018/111 Projects, and prof. Carlos Esplugues Mota, Professor of Private International Law at the Universitat de València, Director of its Official Master in Law, Business and Justice and researcher in the aforementioned Projects MINECO and PROMETEO have participated as guest speakers at the Congress on the current keys to international commercial arbitration and the role of the lawyer in the new forms of justice held on 3 May 2019 at the Illustrious Bar Association of Cajamarca (Peru), one of the oldest and most representative in the country. Together with them, the magistrates Juan Carlos Díaz Sánchez and Fernando Chávez Rosero, this last student of the 8th edition of the Master in Law, Business and Justice of the Universitat de València, have intervened as panelists in this event.

After listening to the hymns of Peru and Cajamarca, the event was presented by the Dean of the Bar Association of Cajamarca, Dr. Hugo Miguel Muñoz Peralta, after which the academic event took place with a lecture given by Dr. Barona on "The challenges of the legal world in the 21st century" and, subsequently, by Professor Esplugues on the topic "The current keys to international commercial arbitration". These interventions were followed by those of the magistrates Díaz Sánchez and Chávez Rosero, the latter focusing on the evolution of the concept of access to justice.
