Until 30 September a call for a research grant is open. It is addressed to the students of the Master’s Degree, within the framework of the ALOP project: “Alentejo Observation and Prediction System”, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, framed in ALENTEJO 2020 (Alentejo Regional Operational Programme).

This PhD fellowship the University of Évora, located in Portugal, offers, is included in the field of The Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, more specifically of Meteorology and Climate. The requirements for admission are the following ones:

• Having a master’s degree qualification on Atmosphere and Earth Science or a related field.
• Work experience in the analysis and treatment of data in atmosphere sciences.
• The education will be valued based on mathematics, physics and meteorology, scientific publications as well as its proficiency in informatics with knowledge of, at least, one programming language.
• The intention of registering in a doctoral programme at the University of Évora will also be valued.

The length of the offer is of one year, from October 2016, with the possibility of extension for two more years. The amount of the grant is 980 €/per month, according to the FCT values for Portugal.
