The event will kick off with a performance of “Veni Creator” by the Orfeón Universitario.

After the Awards Presentation, diplomas will be awarded to the winners who defended their doctoral theses in the 2022-2023 academic year.

At the end of the event, and after a few words from UV Principal Maria Vicenta Mestre, the Ofeón Universitario will play the academic anthem “Gaudeamus Igitur”.

Every academic year, around 500 people defend their doctoral theses in the 60 doctoral programmes offered at the Universitat de València.

Less than 10% UV doctorates are awarded this extraordinary honour, which takes place annually and uses public rating scales to determine the highest quality doctoral theses defended at the UV, one of the 5 leading universities in Spain according tointernational rankings.
