Francisco Tomás Vert, was born in Valencia, 20 September 1943. He graduated in Chemical Sciences by the University of Valencia (1965). Special award of Licenciatura (Spanish former Undergraduate Degree). Doctor in Chemical Sciences by the University of Valencia (1971). Special Award of Doctoral Studies. He is author of 137 scientific publications in journals and chapters of books and of numerous communications and lectures in scientific conferences.
He has directed 19 doctoral thesis and 14 dissertations. The majority of the authors of these theses nowadays are full university professors or tenured professors of the University. He was intern of the Juan March Foundation, 1976. He was granted by the Programme of Visiting Professors of Iberdrola Science and Technology, 2000.
