Juan Luis Gandía Cabedo was invested on 20 May 2026 as rector of the Universitat de València in a ceremony held at the University’s Paraninfo and presided over by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, during which he received from the former rector, Mª Vicenta Mestre Escrivá, the symbols of the rectorate: the ceremonial staff and the medal.
The institutional investiture ceremony of the Rector of the Universitat de València is one of the University’s most solemn ceremonies, during which the assumption of office of the University’s highest representative is formally carried out. The ceremony follows traditional academic protocol, with the symbolic, ceremonial and institutional elements characteristic of a rectoral investiture.
