Vicent Pascual i Granell

Biographical outline:

Vicent Pascual Granell (Silla, 1944) is a teacher, a scholar of multilingual education and a writer. He is also a full member of the Philological Section of the IEC.

Vicent Pascual’s training has a strong autodidactic nature. He started his teaching activity in Torrent and then continued it in Algemesí and Tavernes de la Valldigna. Based on his teaching experience, he became a pioneer in the elaboration of educational materials: programmes, bilingual dictionaries and curricular materials in Valencian and for teaching Valencian.

Starting 1990, he began his task of elaboration and application of a multilingual education model, especially in the Valencian education system. In this area he has published books, pragmatic documents and different articles in specialised journals.

He has been language advisor in CEFIRE in Alzira and consultant for multilingual programmes in the Servicio de Enseñanzas en Valenciano (Service for Teaching in Valencian language) of the Valencian Government.

He is also the author of four young adult novels, among which there is El guardià de l’anell, and he is currently working on a book regarding the integrated treatment of languages and contents.
