Biographical outline:

Francisco Secadas Marcos was born in 1917 in Astilleros (Cantabria).


He studied Philosophy at the University of Comillas and Psychology in the Universities of Bonn and Breslau in Germany, where was grant holder by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He also graduated and completed his doctoral studies in Education and Psychology at the Complutense University.


He was Researcher at the Superior Council of Scientific Research (CSIC) from 1965, researcher professor at the same organization from 1971 and Full University Professor of the University of Valencia from 1971 until 1981, date when he moved to the Autonomous University of Madrid until his retirement.


He devoted himself to university teaching and researching and was one of the pioneers in Psychology in Spain, together with important psychologists with whom he collaborated closely such as Úbeda, Yela, Pinilos, Siguán, among others.
He was award-winner with the Simarro Prize for the psychological research and with the Prize to the joint work of the Spanish Society of Psychology.
