On Wednesday 11th December, the Faculty of Psychology will hold the First Conference on career opportunities in Psychology and Speech Therapy.

The opening of the First Conference on Career Opportunities in Psychology and Speech Therapy will be given by the Principal of the Universitat de València, Maria Vicenta Mestre, who will give way to the inaugural lecture by the psychologist and professor Paz García Vera. García Vera is a government delegate to Madrid, director of the Extraordinary Chair of the Complutense University of Madrid-Military Emergency Unit "Comandando Sánchez Gey" in Applied Psychology in Emergencies, Disasters and Catastrophes, and director of the International Group on Terrorism and Peacebuilding of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). This working group brings together the efforts of more than 80 countries to address, from a psychological perspective, the most useful preventive and intervention strategies to reduce violence, support victims and promote peace.

These academic and professional orientation sessions are part of the Educational Innovation project of the Faculty of Psychology for the academic year 2019-20. Different professionals from the fields of psychology and speech therapy have participated in its development. They will deal with work in several fields such as clinical, social, educational, human resources, old age, patrimony, early attention, neurological rehabilitation... With all this, the objective is to provide psychology and speech therapy students with information of interest regarding possibilities of future employment insertion.
