
The principal of the University of Valencia, Esteban Morcillo, has awarded the prize of the first Entrepreneurial Projects Competition, an initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship of young university students. The prize, worth 2,500 euros, went to the project "Solazo" by Legland Julien. It is a shirt brand produced according to fair trade requirements.
The first Entrepreneurial Projects Competition of the University of Valencia is a part of the cooperation agreement signed with Ministry of/for Educationwith the aim of promoting entrepreneurship among the university students.
"This is an award for continuity Continuity," said Esteban Morcillo. "These initiatives demonstrate the strong commitment of the University of Valencia with society, and with our students." The principal said that "the University of Valencia, one of the oldest universities in Spain and the oldest in Valencia, is a historic but modern university, which has been and is pioneering in efforts impacting the best training of students, as professionals and as citizens. " In this sense, the principal recalled the pioneering creation the University-Business Foundation-ADEIT and the existence of organisationssuch as the OPAL, the Otri, or the Science Park of the University of Valencia." The University of Valencia is not indifferent to the current economic situation, and does not turn its back to our students and graduates. We care about your future, and we are doing everything possible to be the best future possible."
In this year there have been a total of five projects: "Solazo" winner project; "Documentary on marine biodiversity and the degradation of the coast of the Valencian Community"; "MC events"; "Technological Development Project for the blind" and "Rive Company, ginger juice".
The participants were students of first ad/or second cycleas well as of undergraduate degrees, enrolledin the University of Valencia at the time of submitting their project for the Competition. The students could present their business project individually or in group.
The prize has a monetary award of 2500 euros, devoted to the analysis and study of the viability of the project according to what submitting their project for the Ministry of Education established.
Principal Esteban Morcillo was accompanied during the award ceremony by Ariño, vice-principal for Planning, Equality and Culture; Daniel García Serisola, delegate for students; and Vicente González, director of the Professional Placement and Career Advice Monitoring (OPAL)
