From June 2nd to 6th, 2025, the international seminar Visible and Invisible Borders in Human Rights Cinema will take place — an academic and cultural gathering linked to HumansFest – the International Human Rights Film Festival of Valencia.
The event will be held at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia and will combine screenings, round tables and seminars addressing topics such as migration, gender, technological borders, and climate justice, from an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach.
From the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences, the seminar is co-coordinated by Julián Bell Sebastián, teacher and PhD candidate at the faculty, with the mentorship of Professor Carmen Carmona Rodríguez, head of the FORTHEM Diversity & Migration Lab.
Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, as well as faculty members, are especially invited to participate as presenters or attendees in this international meeting.
If you wish to actively participate with a proposal, the deadline for abstract submissions is May 30.
All event information is available on the official FORTHEM website:
Registration is free and submitting a proposal is not required to attend.
