Following the evaluation protocol for verification developed by the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU), the standards to be included in the verification report are the following:
STANDARD 1: DESCRIPTION OF THE DOCTORAL PROGRAMME
The doctoral programme should include a consistent description with its level and academic purposes, for not creating confusion about its characteristics.
STANDARD 2: COMPETENCIES
The competencies to acquire by doctoral students should agree with the requirements for acquiring the doctor qualification and with the qualifications established by the European Higher Education Area.
STANDARD 3: ENTRANCE AND ADMISSION OF DOCTORAL STUDENTS
The doctoral programme must have an entrance and admission system that regulates and inform, clearly, to students about admission criteria.
STANDARD 4: TRAINING ACTIVITIES
The training activities included in the doctoral programme must establish a consistent education proposal designed in a coordinated way and taking into consideration the doctoral students’ dedication in a given period.
STANDARD 5: PROGRAMME ORGANISATION
The monitoring procedures for the doctoral student and the supervision of the doctoral thesis must ensure that the student has acquired the competencies described in the doctoral programme.
STANDARD 6: HUMAN RESOURCES
The doctoral programme must be supported by a group of researchers, who ensure, a priori, the viability of the programme for the training of doctors. The academic staff involved should be sufficient and with the appropriate experience for carrying out the doctoral programme.
STANDARD 7: SUPPORTING AND MATERIAL RESOURCES AVAILABLE FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS
The material resources and services needed for the development of training activities described in the doctoral programme and for the comprehensive training of the doctoral student have to guarantee the acquisition of the competencies expected.
STANDARD 8: REVIEW, IMPROVEMENT AND RESULTS OF THE DOCTORAL PROGRAMME
The doctoral programme must have the mechanisms that allow the analysis of its development and results, ensuring its continuous review and improvement.
