Despite the recent implementation of a degree in Information and Documentation, various indicators show that the employability rate of graduates is high. Thus, the “Third Study on Job Placement of UV’s graduates, 2006-2010” shows that 94.3% of graduates in the former Spanish undergraduate in Library and Documentation Science, predecessor of the current degree, work or have worked since obtaining the qualification, and in 69.1% of cases, their first job was very or fairly related to the degree. Although most graduates work for public bodies, basically libraries and archives, the number of graduates employed in the private sector as documentalists, web content managers (websites, blogs, social networks), technological guards, etc has increased significantly. The usefulness of undergraduate degrees in Information and Documentation for entering the labour market justifies the graduates’ high level of satisfaction with their training.
