Done in Valencia in May 2009.

Developed by DATS Research Group, aimed at engineers and technicians of the Valencian Provincial Council cabinet and their technical field workers for the prevention of occupational hazards in road safety material.

Specific objectives of the course: to provide an overview of the issue of road safety and mechanisms of action from the point of view of administration, explain the impact on road safety at various stages of the life on the road, presenting different containment systems, to publicise the concept of Road Safety Audits, presenting the procedures for conducting the inspection, preparation and submission of the report, and to establish mechanisms to prioritise remediation activities.

Specific contents of the course: preventing road accidents and reducing the severity thereof; savings in health and social costs resulting from the reduction in the number of accidents; increasing safety on the road network; reduced requirements of road maintenance once put into service; improvements in research in the field of road safety engineering.
