Course “Communication skills: new times, new models" 2023

Within the training actions 2023, aimed at the staff of the University of Valencia and organized by the Service for Lifelong Learning and Educational Innovation (SFPIE), Professor Francisco Alonso has imparted the course "Communication skills: new times, new models", during October 2023.

Communication skills are of great importance, both personally and professionally, as they are developed in multiple situations throughout the life cycle. In the university environment it is especially relevant to master, or at least know, those techniques that can allow communication, of any type, content, channel or recipients, to fulfill its purpose.

University Expert Course in Occupational Road Safety 2023

Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS, has impart the subject "Human Factor" within the University Expert Course in Occupational Road Safety for members of MUTUAL de Seguridad Chile.

The University Expert course in Occupational Road Safety is part of a training program for professional groups and is held from September 26 to November 14, 2023, organized by the European University.

Objective: To learn to raise questions, as well as to solve these and those that we usually ask ourselves, which allow us to develop strategic thinking, organizing ideas derived from expert games and knowledge of patterns especially in competitive contexts, so that the participant can apply this knowledge in plans aimed at achieving their purposes in the personal and organizational context of all kinds.

Road Safety Training Course for Driving Instructors 2023

First Training of Trainers Program in Road Safety in Ibero-America with University certification, of 150 hours.

Developed by the University of Valencia through INTRAS, the Ibero-American Association of Road Education and Training Centers and the Institute of Road Safety and Education ISEV, it is aimed at personnel dedicated to Driver Training and related areas.

To control and eliminate errors in the process through the use of a series of techniques, which will be put into practice through case studies

Course “Decision-making: how to face the decision process" 2020

The 2020 Training Plan of the Valencian Institute of Public Administration (IVAP) is aimed at the staff of the Administration of the Generalitat and includes continuous training and specialized training.

In this area, Professor Francisco Alonso has impart the course "Decision-making: how to face the decision process", lasting 15 hours, in October 2020.

The training objective is twofold:

To know and understand the task of decision making.
To control and eliminate errors in the process through the use of a series of techniques, which will be put into practice through case studies.

Within the Training Plan 2019 of the Valencian Institute of Public Administration (IVAP), Professor Francisco Alonso has given the course “Decision making: How to face the decision process” lasting 15 hours in September 2018 and directed to public workers of the superior range of Presidence and various Departments of the Government of the Valencian Community.

Training objective:

To know and comprehend the task of decision-making.
To control and delete the mistakes of the process by using techniques that can me implemented through the cases.

DIGESETT training course

Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS, has taught the First Training Course for DIGESETT Commanders (Directorate General of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on December 8, 2018.

This course is within the framework of the INTRANT-DIGESETT joint action for the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategic Plan, to provide the first training course to the main commanders of that institution on the application of Law 63-17 on Mobility, Transportation Terrestrial, Transit and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Alonso explained to the senior members of DIGESETT the structure and objectives of the National Road Safety Strategic Plan, as well as showed the results of studies conducted by INTRANT on perceptions, attitudes and behavior of road users.

Training Workshop for forensic doctors

Professor Francisco Alonso has given a Training Workshop for forensic doctors of the Dominican Republic, within the program to strengthen the statistical system of deaths caused by road accidents recorded that these doctors register.

The event, organized by INTRANT with the support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), is part of a strategy that seeks to improve the design of public policies to prevent traffic deaths, supported by more rigorous scientific research of the causes that cause them.

Module III "Road safety" of the Diploma in Safety and Hygiene in Construction

On October 4, 2018, Professor Francisco Alonso started the Module III "Road Safety" corresponding to the Diploma of Safety and Hygiene in Construction, organized by the Dominican Association of Home Builders and Developers (ACOPROVI), and imparted in Santo Domingo from 20 September to 8 November 2018

Course-Workshop "Intelligent Systems for the Management of Mobility and Road Safety"

Within the Intelligent Systems Workshop Courses (ITS) held on July 24, 2018 at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) and organized by ITS Spain, ITS Iberoamérica, INTRAS and INTEC, under the auspices of the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (INTRANT), Professor Francisco Alonso has taught the course "Intelligent Systems for the Management of Mobility and Road Safety", which addressed the principles of Intelligent Mobility (Smart Mobility), both in urban and interurban areas.

Course-Workshop "Intelligent Systems of Public Transport"

Professor Francisco Alonso has taught the course "Intelligent Systems of Public Transport" within the Intelligent Systems Workshop Courses (ITS) held on July 24, 2018 at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) and organized by ITS Spain, ITS Iberoamérica, INTRAS and INTEC, under the auspices of the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (INTRANT)

The course dealt with the principles of the MaaS model (Mobility as a service), which considers the maximum use of information and communication technologies to manage terrestrial movements more efficiently and safely, guaranteeing sustainability and economic growth.

Road Education Module in the degree of Diploma in Citizenship and Civic Education

Professor Francisco Alonso, on June 2, 2018, taught the module "Road Education, Law No. 63/17 on Mobility, Land Transport, Transit and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic", within the "Diploma in Citizenship and Civic Education” offered by the Civic Education Consortium of the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra, of the Dominican Republic.

The diploma course, which focused on reflecting on the rights of citizens in a democratic system, comprised 54 hours divided into 9 modules that were developed in 4 months.

Workshop for media in the Dominican Republic

Professor Francisco Alonso has given a workshop entitled: "Traffic and Road Safety: basic foundations for Communication", dedicated to journalists and editors covering transportation issues in the Dominican Republic.

In this workshop, organized by the National Institute of Traffic and Land Transport (INTRANT) and held on January 18 and 19, 2018 in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) addressed issues such as "Basic concepts of traffic and road safety", "Importance of the means of communication to improve road safety", "Situation of traffic and road safety in the Dominican Republic", "Regulatory framework", "National Strategic Road Safety Plan", among others.

Workshop “Interdisciplinary approach to traffic and road safety"

Professor Francisco Alonso has lead a workshop titled: “Interdisciplinary approach to traffic and road safety” in the framework of the Training Axle of the 2nd Latin American Congress for the Progress of Psychological Science, celebrated in Buenos Aires (Argentina), from 12 to 15 October 2016.

Such workshop aims to increase and update the knowledges in the field of traffic management and road safety of different professionals who are in charge (criminologists, lawyers, policemen, civil engineers, psychologists, educators, doctors, etc).

Course “Introduction to Road Safety. Basis for the intervention”

Celebrated in Santiago de Chile on 20 May 2015

Professor Francisco Alonso has given a course about inner training about risk factors when it comes to driving and its treatment for the Mutual Insurance CChC, institution created in 1066 by the Chilean Chamber of Construction.

The main goal is to provide participants training in all those concepts, data and dimensions that compose the starting point to get an effective, applied and rigorous approach that allows them to monitor interventions in the field of Road Safety.

8th Course of Education and Road Safety

Within the 8th course of education and road safety, entitled “Prevention policies for the most vulnerable in safe mobility”, was held in Salamanca on 4 to 8 July, 2011, the professors Francisco Alonso and Cristina Esteban will present the workshop of analysis of “Advertising campaigns for pedestrians and cyclists”.The course is organised by the University of Salamanca with the collaboration of the DGT.

Entitled “Prevention policies for the most vulnerable in safe mobility” it is scheduled the celebration of the 8th edition of the Course of Education and Road Safety that every year around this time is organised by the University of Salamanca, and which has the collaboration of the DGT, Torcal Foundation, the University of Zaragoza and Mapfre Foundation.

With the presentation of this course by our colleague Violeta Manso, professor of the University of Salamanca and pedagogical adviser of the DGT, will start the Summer Course addressed to professionals related to education and road safety, and which mixes theory with practical workshops and debates.

7th Course of Education and Road Safety

Entitled “Pedagogical Treatment of the road reality from the perspective of Educational Workshops”, was held in Salamanca this 7th edition of the Course of Education and Road Safety that organises the University of Salamanca, from 5 to 9 July, 2010.
Within the research, programming and group dynamics Workshops, the professors Francisco Alonso and Cristina Esteban taught the Workshop of Group Dynamics applied to Road Safety Education.

Seminars on “Criminal danger in offenses against road safety”

Organised by the University Miguel Hernández in Elche, was held on 16 April 2010 the 1st Seminar: The prognosis of future relapse as criminological tool for crime prevention and treatment for delinquents, where the professor Alonso participated in the work group “Criminological tools for the prognosis relapse in road offenders” and in the workshop “Construction of a tool for the prognosis relapse in road offenders”.
The 2nd Seminar: Criminal danger in the “modern” Criminal Law, Towards a Criminal Law of future danger? held on 29 April of the same year.

Summer Course: Offenses against road safety: “Practical and criminological aspects of the new legal regulations”

In the summer course held on 25 and 26 September 2008, in Elche, and organised by the University Miguel Hernández, the Dr Francisco Alonso presented during the round table “The reform of offenses against road safety: A psychological and criminological view”

5th Course on Education and Road Safety. Contributions to safe mobility from educational policies

During the course of education and road safety held on 7 -11 July 2008 in Salamanca and organised by the University of Salamanca-DGT-the Dr Francisco Alonso presented the lecture “Psychological care on traffic accidents”, whose authorship shares with the professor Cristina Esteban.

10th Summer Courses: “Road Safety Education as the work of social mediators”

During the course held in Madrid in 1999 and organised by the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education of the Faculty of Education with the UNED, the Dr Francisco Alonso presented the lecture “La Labor de los mediadores sociales en el cambio de actitudes hacia el comportamiento vial” (The task of social mediators in changing attitudes towards road users behaviour).
