Carried out in Valencia during 2001 and 2002.

Developed by the Research Group DATS, three courses aimed at management and supervision staff and the other eight courses, aimed at the lorry drivers of BP Oil España S.A. for the prevention of accidents.

Specific aims of the course: it is about making the workers aware of the existing risks while driving, how they affect them, how they can avoid them, especially through workers’ information and training in road safety, in order to change their attitudes and change their inappropriate and risk behaviours.

Specific contents of the course: human factor: driving behaviour and main psychophysical and transitory factors; the vehicle: main safety systems (active and passive) and maintenance; road and regulation: specific road dangers and why the main traffic regulations whose infringement has a greater influence on accidents exist; main human mistakes involved in the interrelationship incident-accident, consumption of harmful substances, stress, tiredness, distractions, drowsiness, etc.
