The fifth Neuromascletà in Valencia, an event on the complexity and abilities of the brain and its relationship with development, this year is held between March 15 and 18, coinciding with World Brain Week. In the event, the Scientific Culture Unit of the University of Valencia, the Falla Plaza de Jesús, the Dana Foundation-FENS, the FECyT and the Ministry of Science and Innovation collaborate.

The four online conferences can be accessed through the link https://links.uv.es/XC63yKt or the QR code.

Thus, on Monday March 15 at 12 noon, Carmen Agustín, professor at the University of Valencia, with the collaboration and participation of FinRett represented by Leticia Barreda, will explain what Rett syndrome is, who it affects, its symptoms and the possible treatment of pathology in the talk “La síndrome de Rett: una malaltia rara i femenina” (‘Rett syndrome: a rare and female disease’).

On March 16 at 7:00 p.m., Cristina Márquez, researcher at the Institute of Neurosciences of Alicante and professor at the Miguel Hernández University will give the lecture “¿Mejor solo que mal acompañado?” (‘Better alone than in bad company?’), where she will talk about the social behaviours of other species of animals and that they can learn from humans.

On March 17 at 7:00 p.m., José Marco, professor at the University of Barcelona and researcher at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) will participate with the conference “A tothom li agrada la música?” (‘Does everyone like music?’), where he will introduce the audience in the brain mechanisms involved in musical pleasure and why this is such an important stimulus.

Finally, on Thursday 18 at 7:00 p.m., Xurxo Mariño, professor at the University of A Coruña and scientific disseminator, will discuss the complexity of language and its evolution in “Una mirada a l’evolució del llenguatge” (‘A look at the evolution of language’).
