Unisocietat students discover the Valencian territory
Along May and June, Unisocietat formative excursions will take place, some guided tours which complete the scholar year. Students will enjoy the opportunity to discover Sangunt, Alpuente, La Canal de Navarrés and Bocairent.
The Vice-principal office for Territorial Projection and Society, with the support of Diputació de València and Caixa Popular, have organised formative tours through the Valencian territory, in order to widen the knowledge on the interesting natural and cultural heritage of Unisocietat students; a heritage treasured by the Valencian territory. The vice-principal Josge Hermosilla has shown that the purpose of this initiative is to foment a ‘collective learning based on experiences on the field which allows the exchange of knowledge and points of view.
Alpuente will be the destination of the students formative visit of Quart del Poblet, Benetússer and Alzira. Under the title: Després de les petjades dels dinosaures: un passeig pel patrimoni paleontològic d'Alpuente, this formative route will count with lecturers of the Universitat de València such as Carlos Martínez-pérez (Department of Biology and Geology) and Emilio Barba (Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology). The palaeontological Museum of Alpuente will be visited, the settlement of Corcolilla Dinosaur Track and the historical centre of this village.
The students of UNISOCIETAT-Paterna will go to Sagunt. In this formative initiative, the students, accompanied by a specialised guide, will tour the centre of the city, will visit the Castle, the Roman Forum and theatre, the Jewish quarter and the Archaeological Museum.
UNISOCIETAT Massamagrell and Requena will discover the landscapes of the Canal de Navarrés where they will go, among others, to the Ecomuseum of Bicorp, the Comtes de Cervellón Palace and to the Albufera d’Anna.
The students from l’Eliana will go to Bocairent, where they will walk through the medieval quarter. The programme of the visit includes a visit to the Covetes dels Moros and to the Cava de Sant Blai. The excursion will end in the natural area of Pou Clar.
Finally, the 17th of May, it will take place in ‘La Nau’ the meeting of the students belonging to the 12 locations, who are in the first course of the UNSOCIETAT programme: Bétera, Riba-roja de Túria, Alzira, Benetússer, Paterna, Requena, l'Eliana, Cullera, Massamagrell, Quart de Poblet, Ontinyent and Gandia. The students will go on a tour to the Paraninf and the Chapel and also will attend a conference in the Universitat de València given by the professor of Ethics and Politics Philosophy, Adela Cortina.
