One of these schools will take place in Lisbon, Valencia and Wroclaw (Poland). During five weeks, 40 students and young professionals who come from 19 countries will take part in this interdisciplinary education programme that focus on the financial, environmental and social challenges related to the global warming.

After going through Portugal, where the students have spent the two first weeks at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the Nova University of Lisbon, the students have arrived at Valencia, where the Universitat de València hosts them during two weeks in which different multidisciplinary lessons on economics, business models, communication and marketing are programmed. All this is related to the business opportunities in the field of climate change in order to allow them to acquire the necessary knowledges to go into the work and business world. The participants work in teams that imitate the professional world.

Moreover, students are being trained in climate change and they will have meetings with the world’s leading private companies and other successful start-ups to know the business opportunities resulting from the climate change challenges.

The programme will finish with a week in Wroclaw, where they will coincide with other students group whose tour also finishes in the same city.

The programme ends with a competition where the students will present the ideas that they have developed to solve the problems related to climate in real world. Based on their own creativity and knowledge about the climate change, the students must present a detailed business plan before a judging panel composed of venture capitals, entrepreneurs, start-ups and scientists.

Start-up evening: learning from failure

During this edition, ‘The Journey’ participants that are in Valencia have the opportunity to attend the conference ‘Start-up evening: learning from failure’, which will have the same format as the ‘Fuck Up Nights’, where entrepreneurs from start-ups related to the sector will share with the audience the failures that they have faced with the objective to help third parties.
