25th Conference of the Spanish Society of Classical Studies on Education in Antiquity
“Luces y sombras: La Educación en la Antigüedad y la Formación Clásica en nuestros días"(Lights and Shadows: Education in Antiquity and Classical Education in our days)
From 7, 9 March, 2013, the Spanish Society of Classical Studies (Delegation of Valencia and Castelló) will hold in the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication (Enric Valor Conference Room) a conference, now in its 25th edition, that in this occasion is entitled “Luces y Sombras: La Educación en la Antigüedad y la Formación Clásica en nuestros días”. A total of five papers by prestigious specialists, sixteen communications and a round table will give account of an issue, that of education, which currently calls for special attention. These conferences will not only go in depth in the study of the questions related to education in Greece and Rome, but also will show why classical education is necessary in our days and which are its benefits.
