A masterpiece by Ousmane Sembène, it tells the story of Diouana. She was hired by a Frenchman from the metropolis to take care of his children and so she moves to the sunny and touristy city of Antibes where she will live at the masters’ house. Things soon change and she takes care of house tasks; hence, Diouana understands that her role in a white society is very different.
