Legal Clinics: spaces and strategies for rights protection

15-hours course. (validated by one free elective credit).Coordinated by: Ruth Mestre i Mestre. Legal Clinics for the Social Justice and Human Rights Institute. University of Valencia.

 

Course addressed at law students committed to social justice. Introduction to clinical legal education and learning of law through experience. The clinical work pays attention to the law social dimension and to the law as a tool for social change. We will work strategies for guaranteing the rights of vulnerable groups through the clinic methodology: monitoring, strategic litigation, street law... We will present the experience of collaboration between the Legal Clinic for the social justice of the University of Valencia (CJSS-UVEG) and the TV programme “Encarcelados”.
