Sessions dedicated to the world of Spanish books in Londong during the 16th to 19th Centuries

The aim of this Session is acknowledging, through London’s literary world, Great Britain’s image of Spain during the 16th to 19th Centuries. Library catalogues, Auctions and private Libraries, among others, will serve to reconstruct the British Capital’s vision of the Spanish culture. A session aimed at confirming or denying some of the topics about Spain which circulated around Modern Europe.

In all this, the role of Valencians was relevant. Figures such as that of Manuel Martí, Mayans or Vicente Salvá, liberal librarian, had a prominent role in that Spanish ‘image’.
