La Nau hosts for three days the ‘Sessions on Historic Memory’

The Debate Forum, with the collaboration of Querella Argentina, Al Alba Platform 27 September and the recently formed History and Democratic Memory Room of the Universitat de València, celebrates tomorrow 24 May and on Thursday 26 the annual ‘Sessions on Historic Memory’. All the events will take place at the Aula Magna of the Cultural Centre La Nau, at 19 hours, and the entry is free.

The activities will start on Tuesday, 24 May, with the conference ‘Puig-Antich, asesinado, impunidad y querella argentina’ (‘Puig-Antich, murdered, impunity and Argentinian lawsuit’), that will have the interventions of Jacinto Lara, lawyer of the Association for Human Rights of Spain/CEAQUA, Merçona Puig-Antich and Lucila Aragón, claimants in Argentina.  

On Wednesday, 25 May, there will be showed ‘Una cena inesperada’ (‘An unexpected dinner’) a fiction short-film about the 27 September 1975, when there were the last executions of the Francoism. There will be participating the director of the film, Antonio Lozano, and the writer and coordinator of the Debate Forum of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of the Universitat, Alfons Cervera. 

To conclude these sessions, on Thursday 26 May, there will take place the conference ‘Investigación y (re)construcción de la memoria: Atlas de Madrid en guerra (1936-1948)’ (‘Research and (re)construction of memory: Atlas of Madrid at war [1936-1948]’), with Gutmaro Gómez and Alejandro Pérez-Olivares, professors at the Complutense University of Madrid. The act will be presented by the professor of the Universitat de València Mélanie Ibáñez Domingo.
