On Friday it will be inaugurated the exhibition ‘Arte y Literatura. Glosario infiel de imágenes’ (‘Art and Literature. Unfaithful glossary of images’), in which painter Carles Mondrià ilustrates poems by Gerard Vergés (Tortosa, 1931-2014). In the same event, which will take place at Octubre Centre de Cultura Contemporània (19:30 hours), it will be presented the illustrated book by Mondrià ‘El Jardín de las Delicias’ (‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’) with poems that Gerard Vergés wrote inspired by the famous triptych of The Garden of Earthly Delights, masterpiece of the Netherlandish painter Hieronymus Bosch, edited by the publishing house from Tarragona Arola Editores.

The exhibition and the book are part of a wider project boosted by the Universitat de València from the ‘Romà de Calle’ Documentation Centre of Valencian Contemporary Art (CDAVC) and by Arola Editores, with the collaboration of the Poetry Club of the Universitat.

‘The initiative expects to combine the evocative power of words and its reading on the part of the new generations of artists, as well as giving opportunities both to young artists and to degree students that will ccarry out the work of a co-curator, developing part of their university tasks at the CDAVCV’ as professor Ricard Silvestre explains, director of CDAVCV and curator of the exhibtion, along with Pablo Olcina.

The event will have the interventions of Alfred Arola (Arola Editores) Begonya Pozo (Poetry Club of the Universitat de València), Carles Mondrià (visual artist) and Ricard Silvestre (CDAVC- Universitat de València).
