Enric Juliana.

This Tuesday, 15 April, at 19:00, it will take place at the Aulga Magna of the Cultural Centre La Nau of the University of Valencia the preresentation of the book ‘España en el diván’ (RBA, 2014), work of journalist Enric Juliana. The presentation will be led by Antonio Ariño, Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality; Josep Vicent Boira, Professor of Geography at the University of Valencia and essayist; and by the author. About this book, during the round-table discussion there will be a review of the Spanish politics of the last decade and the conference can be followed live from MediaUni.

Enric Juliana (Badalona, 1957) is a journalist of a long professional career, devoted for the last ten years to the Spanish political news. He is deputy director of the newspaper ‘La Vanguardia’, responsible for the writing of this newspaper in Madrid, and a good connoisseur of the Valencian reality, to which he has devoted many articles and several chapters of his books. ‘España en el diván’ is a compilation of three books published by Juliana these last ten years (‘La España de los pingüinos’, 2006, ‘La deriva de España’, 2009, and ‘Modesta España’, 2012) with a long prologue about the most recent events. The three books draw a wide perspective of the 2004-2014 decade, in many aspects decisive for Spain. The bustle of the policy, the change of the economic cycle and its severe consequences, the territorial tensions, the specific situation of Catalonia and the growing claims of the Mediterranean Spain- Eastern Spain, in the words of the author-, are some of the most important topics of the book.

Apart from this event, tomorrow in the Seminar Classrooms (19:00) of La Nau it continues the second ‘eurocolloquium’ organized by the Valencian Association of Political Scientists who in the session of tomorrow will address the journalists’ opinion and, on Wednesday 16 April (19:00), within the programming of the Discussions Forum, journalist Pere Rusiñol will offer the conference ‘Crisis and new media’, in an event organized by the magazines ‘Mongòlia’ and ‘Alternatives Econòmiques’.
