Recortes (Zoom In)
The photography exhibition ‘Recortes’ is patrocined by the Office of the Vice Principal for Culture and Equality.
Its author, Andrés Castillo, reports social drama arisen as a consequence of austerity policies. The photograph titles are chosen based on euphemisms communicated to society with an ironic tone. At an artistic level, he uses fragments and zooms in for the frames aiming at deepening in the message and having the spectator imagine the context and, hence, making him get involved in the photographs.
