The new infrastructures would host large part of the scientific potential of the research institutes of the UV and the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), centres which were giving excellent research outcomes worldwide, and which were awaiting for being placed in some more suitable locations to develop its task more effectively. They would also host spin-off businesses, derived from university research; business projects of scientific-technical basis, and would enable the entry of high added value already consolidated firms, attracted by the opportunity of working in a knowledge generator scientific and academic environment.

Five years later, the Science Park of the UV is an innovation ecosystem geared towards social profitability of knowledge. Loyal to the characteristics of its promoting institution -a public, global, historic university with a remarkable research potential -, the PCUV (Science Park UV) works to link scientific research to the productive system, fostering innovative processes and favouring a productive system competitive and capable of contributing to a knowledge-based economic and social development. Robotics and the TIC, Molecular Science, Material Science, Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology, Corpuscular Physics, Agro-chemistry and Food Technology are the fields reached by the researching institutes of the Science Park. In this area the Astronomic Observatory of the UV is located, the Images Processing Laboratory, Central Service for Experimental Research and the Spanish Type Culture Collection are also found. All institutes generate work around science, technology and innovation, which are essential for moving societies forward. Work which is brought closer to citizens through different dissemination actions, such as EXPOCIÈNCIA, an Open Day to the public Conference which is held every May in the Science Park, gathering together to more than thousands of people and being one of the main action of social dissemination of science and innovation of the UV.
